Coastal Walks

Coastal paths offer great hiking east and west out of the estuary along the wind-swept headlands, with many sights and destinations to discover.

The famous Hall Walk is a trail that tracks around the estuary, with great views of Fowey. Take the ferry over to Polruan and follow the path round to Pont, then over to Boddinick where the car-ferry will take you back to Fowey.

Cruises & Boating

From the town quay there are many options for cruises around the estuary or on to neighbouring ports, as well as self-drive boat hire, or just simply catching the ferry to Polruan.

Water taxis also operate from here and fishing trips can be arranged, or indeed you can launch or sort mooring for your own crafts.

Water Sports

There is a number of equipment hire and guided options for kayakers, canoeists, sailors, wind & kite surfers. Either from Fowey, Golant, Polkerris, Par Sands or further.

The estuary provides safe sheltered paddling as far up as Lerryn and Lostwithiel.

Polkerris harbour opens out into St. Austell Bay, where Par Sands is ideal for the more adventurous wind and kite surfers.

SUPing

Hop on your board and get paddling... whether it is an afternoon spent paddling around the estuary, more adventurous exploration around the coast or simply practicing your balance at one of the many sheltered coves.

A great way to explore at your own pace, either with your own equipment or hiring from one of the many outlets.

Days Out

From your great central point in Cornwall there are many great days out adventures available to you...

The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Tintagel Castle, Lanhydrock House, Bodmin Moor to name a few.
